About This Spot

Arriving at Hoya's, you’re greeted by a warm, inviting atmosphere that feels like a cherished local retreat. Nestled just off the main road in Heywood, this Cantonese restaurant moves at a comfortable, unhurried pace—a place where the familiar hum of conversation blends with the clink of glasses and the subtle aromas of rich spices and freshly prepared dishes. It’s a setting that encourages you to settle in, relax, and share a meal that’s as much about connection as it is about flavor.

Inside, the attentive staff foster a quietly welcoming energy that makes you feel genuinely looked after, whether you’re here for a casual dinner or a family gathering. The hospitality is relaxed but thoughtful, skillfully accommodating different needs and tastes without fuss. This thoughtful care is felt in every detail, creating a space where both regulars and new visitors can feel at ease.

The menu offers a comforting balance of classic Cantonese flavors, each dish crafted with care and attention, inviting you to explore familiar favorites alongside options tailored to individual preferences. Whether it’s the lively crunch of salt and pepper chicken wings or the nostalgic warmth of dim sum shared among friends, every bite encourages a slower appreciation of the meal. These dishes are not just tasted—they’re experienced, reflecting an honest dedication to good food and genuine hospitality.

While the setting might lean toward a touch of understated elegance rather than casual simplicity, there’s a modest, unpretentious charm in how the food and service come together. It’s clear this is a place where quality matters more than flash, and where customers return not just for the meal itself, but for the thoughtful human moments that unfold around the table.

Visitors often mention the feeling of being welcomed into a space that respects individual needs and preferences, while at the same time offering a timeless, communal dining experience. This sensitivity deepens the sense of ease and belonging, creating a quietly special corner of Cantonese tradition in Heywood.

Always a great time the food wow me and my wife go once a week Wonderful service, don’t understand the bad reviews, we have been bringing our children for 17 years and always been welcomed warmly. Highly recommend, make your own minds up

Hoyas is a lovely restaurant, run by friendly and attentive staff. The food is fabulous, a bit pricey but I would rather pay that bit extra and get good service. Plus, as long as you go there knowing what to expect then it shouldn't be a problem. There are no desserts, apart from ice cream but there's so much selection with the starters and mains that you'd be hard pushed to have room for anything else anyway. I recommend you give this lovely restaurant a visit, you won't be disappointed.

Absolutely beautiful food, never eaten as much and tasted as many different plates in my life and enjoyed every piece. Service was second to none. The lady was something else when it came to managing so many tables, and everything was spot on perfect. Definitely 110% returning.

Incredible restaurant with incredibly tasty food, make sure you have the soup and the prawn toast both outstanding. The service at the place is very personal so overall a 10/10 dining experience
